The 2018 Heineken Lagos Fashion Week; African Fashion redefined.

The Heineken Lagos Fashion Week season 8 took place from 24th to 27th October, 2018. Indeed, the event has taken the Nigerian Fashion industry to a completely different level with its supportive, strengthening and developing initiative. It gives, on a annual, basis, the fashion industry the opportunity to redefine its creativity for commercial purpose. The Lagos fashion week witnesses an influx of of buyers, media and fashion enthusiasts to view collections of young and promising African designers. This year, over 50 designers showcased their 2019 Spring/Summer collections.
The show used its annual Fashion Focus Program to provide incubator support for emerging talents with the launch of Fashion Focus Africa. The Fashion Focus (formerly Young Designer of the Year) was established in 2011 to discover new talent and accelerate growth over a twelve-month period through monitoring and awarding a grant via the the Fashion Focus Fund. The program now takes application from all over Africa as it was formerly opened to Nigerians. The Fashion City Tours hosted in various local cities and other African regions. The tour locations included; Abuja, Enugu, Ghana, Lagos, Nairobi and Port-Harcourt. The line of events at the 2018 Heineken Lagos Fashion Week included;

This year’s theme is ‘ The Importance of Platforms’ and discussions delved into how the fashion industry can leverage platforms. A dynamic selection of industry experts will lead these discussions.
