Yoruba leaders storm Ibadan today, see why.

Ibadan witnessed the meeting of some notable Yoruba leaders today at the launching of the autobiography of late Chief Obafemi Awolowo in Yoruba language. The event took place at the International Conference Center, University of Ibadan, Ibadan. It was organized by Mr Alao Adedayo ( Publisher, Alarayo) who also authored the autobiography of Chief Obafemi Awolowo in Yoruba language.
The event did not only feature launching of the book but also deliberation on the security of Yorubaland. Notable speakers urged Yoruba leaders to take charge of and act on the security issues in the Southwestern part of Nigeria as it is now under the siege by the Fulani herdsmen.
The welcome address was presented by the covener of the programme -Mr. Alao Adedayo (convener), the representattive of the Ooni of Ife delivered the opening/chairman’s remarks. Ambassador (Dr) Tokunbo Awolowo-Dosunmu (daughter of Chief Obafemi Awolowo) gave an appraisal of late Chief Obafemi Awolowo and his legacies. The book presentation was done by the representative of Chief Kesington A Adebutu. Professor Banji Akintoye was the guest speaker, while oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi (the Alaafin of Oyo) gave his speech as the royal father of the day and the closing remarks.
Other notable people present were Iba Gani Adams (the Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland) who also gave a keynote speech on the security issues in Yorubaland, the Deputy Governor of Oyo state Engr Rauf Olaniyan , Oba Olugbon, the Olubadan of Ibadan, the Eberu of Iba, Dr. Omololu Olunloyo, Arch Bishop Ayo Ladigbolu, Olatunbosun Oladapo, Sheikh Aduranigba (Yoruba chief imam of Ilorin), Barr. Adebayo Shittu(minister of Communication), princess Folashade Adeyemi (Arewa House of Culture), the Pan-Yoruba group members (Afenifere chief Ayo Adebanjo, com Odumakin), Ace filmmaker Tunde kelani, Miss Oyo State,Dr Yemi Faronbi (former Nigerian ambassador to the Phillipines) etc.
